Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week May 4-8 2020

Even though we aren’t with our teachers this year, let’s go out of our way to show them how much we care. Follow this guide to make each day special for our Roosevelt staff* this week!

  • Monday, May 4: Decorate the school fence for our teachers! Make a poster for your teacher and hang it on the fence today at Roosevelt, surrounding the cup message our PTG set up over the weekend. Don’t forget to snap a picture to send by email or post to your classroom Facebook or Microsoft Teams page. If you can’t make it to school, just take a picture and send it her/his way. Tips: we recommend placing smaller poster in large ziploc bags to “weather-proof” them, or using sturdier poster board. You can secure your signs to the fence with zip ties or duct tape.
  • Tuesday, May 5: Build a “virtual” bouquet day. Last year we filled vases with flowers for our teachers. This year let’s flood their email with flowers from all of us. Draw, paint, or use sidewalk chalk to create a beautiful flower. Send it to your teacher via email/Facebook/Teams.
  • Wednesday, May 6: Write your teacher a note of appreciation. What do you love about your teacher? What makes her/him special? Tell her/him with your words and/or pictures. Send electronically or stick in the mail: 333 W. 14th Avenue Spokane, WA 99204.
  • Thursday, May 7: What does your teacher absolutely love? What makes her/him interesting and unique? Choose an activity to do today in her/his honor and take a picture of yourself doing it. Be creative! Then send it via email/Facebook/teams.
  • Friday, May 8: Record a 20 second video for your teacher. Share what you love and miss most about her/him! Add a creative dance or song if you wish. Send it via  email/Facebook/teams.

*Also note we are celebrating all our staff this week, along with specials teachers (art, music, library, technology, PE). Please help us spread the love – to classroom teachers and beyond!
