Your Roosevelt team is so excited to welcome our kindergarten students to school. Kindergarten is a time of exploration, discovery, learning, friendship, and, most of all, joy! To best acclimate our young learners to school and to get to know them and your family best, the start of the school year looks a little different for our kindergarten learners than it does for our older students.
During launch conferences, on August 24, 25, and 26, our kindergarten teachers will meet together with your family. During this meeting, we will begetting to know your child, and we will answer any questions you have about kindergarten at Roosevelt.
Our team works very closely together, and we won’t yet know which teacher will be your child’s teacher. To make the transition to kindergarten easier, only half of our kindergarten students will attend each day:
Thursday, August 27: Students with last names A–L
Friday, August 28: Students with last names M–Z
During these two days, our team will work together to provide our Roosevelt kindergarteners the best possible launch to school. We will also be getting to know our young learners so that we can best balance classes. Then on August 31, the first day of all kindergarten students together, your child will be tentatively placed in a class.
Our team feels strongly that this start allows us to have classes that best meet the needs of every learner and demonstrates our approach that every kindergarten student at Roosevelt is supported by the entire Kindergarten team. We can’t wait to meet you!
