Be a part of the Roosevelt Playground Discussion!

Dear Roosevelt Families,
We’re reaching out to encourage your attendance at our next PTG Meeting on Thursday, March 5th.

With your help we raised more than $20,000 during this year’s Teddy Trek with the goal to put a portion of that money towards updating the Roosevelt playground. However, after a conversation with the Spokane School District, they have agreed to not only utilize the playground funds we have raised together, but to also support a full playground reconstruction during Summer of 2021.

As a first step, we will be joined at our March PTG meeting by Greg Forsyth, Director of Capital Projects at SPS. This will be an important opportunity for us to present an overview of our playground needs and wants, and to hear from him what the district can or can not do (e.g. swings are a no-go). From this conversation we will then work to create a project plan and timeline for the Roosevelt playground project.

This is our chance to present our ideas on the playground, basketball courts and surrounding areas. What would your family like to see in this neighborhood playground?

We are collecting feedback for this discussion via the anonymous google doc link below. Please submit your thoughts by Friday, February 29th.  A summarized version of this feedback will be included in our meeting presentation at the 3/5 PTG meeting.

We also encourage you to take advantage of the meeting as an additional opportunity to have your voice heard. If you do plan on attending, please let us know in the document as well so we can ensure our meeting space and childcare needs are covered.

Thank you in advance! Go Bruins!
